This hike will begin with a 30 minute talk about local geology, and the legend of the Miners’ Bay Silver Mine. A theory will be proposed as to how, when, and why, the mine “was lost” early in the nineteenth century. This will be followed by viewing of significant mineral specimens from Miners’ Bay. The hike will go past, and through several areas of geological interest, on a loop trail that has some rough areas, and a significant down hill section. It will conclude at the Miners’ Bay Church, and a brief history of the century and a half old Miners’ Bayt Community.

Dogs allowed.
