“This hike is strenuous and challenging. And beautiful.
You will be going up and then down and then up again most of the hike on rocky and uneven surfaces.
There are several water crossings across beaver dams or creeks that require rock hopping. Hiking poles/walking sticks are a necessity.
That said, the trail takes you to beautiful places like along a beaver meadow/pond, Fairy Falls and scenic outlooks to name a few.
Lunch will be by a small but rushing stream deep in a small valley.”
No dogs allowed.

LEADER: Cara Oleksuik
LEADER BIO: Hi there, I’m Cara. My happy place is on a hiking trail exploring what nature has to offer and there’s no place like the Haliburton Highlands to do that. As a child my mom took me on hikes almost every weekend along the Bruce Trail. As a young adult I explored Algonquin Park with my young family by canoe with portages between bodies of water. Now I am semi-retired and live in an area that offers spectacular hiking right at my doorstep. The Hike Haliburton Festival is a great time for me to share my passion of hiking and introduce others to this spectacular area so grab your hiking boots and I’ll see you on the trail!
