Take a slow walk with Sheila Ziman, naturalist and basket maker extraordinaire, to identify plants and discuss their use in basketry and/or in garden projects such as trellises and fencing. You will walk a section of the wide, flat Haliburton County Rail Trail passing wetlands and forests where you will see basketry materials growing in their preferred habitats. Sustainable gathering will be discussed and you will have an opportunity to see some finished baskets using materials that have been observed during the walk. Suitable for adults and youth.
