During the week of the Hike Haliburton Festival the Haliburton Sculpture Forest is hosting 7 dancers, a residency for these artists to work on choreography and dance with the Sculpture Forest as their backdrop. Curator, Jim Blake leads a guided tour telling stories of the sculptures. You will also get a chance to observe some of the dancers at work.  No dogs allowed.

LEADER: Jim Blake

LEADER BIO: Jim studied fine art at University of Guelph, York University and the New School of Art and exhibited his work as a visual artist in the 1970’s and 80’s. Jim is also a writer and storyteller and has performed at festivals and venues across Canada.
Jim was involved in the original development of the Haliburton Sculpture Forest and has served as its Curator since it opened in 2001. Since 2018 he has also curated the Downtown Haliburton Sculpture Exhibition – a joint project of the Sculpture Forest and the Haliburton Village BIA.
